I am currently an NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of Distinguished Professor Jodi Nunnari at the University of California, Davis. I use systems cell biology approaches to interrogate the mechanisms of mitochondrial genome synthesis, segregation and inheritance in mammalian cells.

I received a B.S. in Zoology from Oregon State University in 2008, and an interdisciplinary Ph. D. in Genetics, Genomics and Bioinformatics from the University of California, Riverside in 2013, where I was supervised by Professor Bradley Hyman. I also spent fall 2011 through summer 2012 as a visiting researcher in the Mitochondrial Genetics Group at the University of Tampere in Finland, where I collaborated with Academy Professor Howy Jacobs.
